How We Help Our Students Get Consistently High Grades in Their GCSE Exams
We have a taught lesson approach. Unlike other providers who focus on papers with no depth, teaching or revision, we do all of this and still make sure our students have a taught lesson!
Our tutors, led by journalist and Geek School Tutoring’s managing director, Joycellyn Akuffo, are subject experts who deeply understand the GCSE curriculum and exam techniques. They use their expertise to deliver the comprehensive lesson plans that Joycellyn puts together, covering all key topics in their particular syllabus while providing students with thorough explanations, examples, and practice questions.
Additionally, we supplement our lessons with mock tests and exams and use past papers to familiarise our students with the exam format and time constraints. This helps them develop practical time management skills and build confidence in tackling the exams.
Moreover, we provide personalised feedback and one-to-one support to each student, even when working in groups, addressing any areas of weakness and helping them improve their understanding of specific topics and their performance. This individualised attention has been proven to be highly effective in boosting students’ grades and overall academic confidence.

How Our Lessons Work
We provide group English and maths sessions (with groups of up to six students) at our centres in Beckenham and Catford. The core groups are on Saturdays at 11am-1pm.
We also have online group sessions on Saturdays and during the weekdays, where lessons last for an hour per session.
