Thanks to homeschooling, many parents with children in years 3, 4, 5 and 6 now know that their children are learning more than just addition, subtraction and timestables. This realisation has come as a shock for so many parents because up until March, that seemed to sum up the kind of homework children in these year groups got sent home every week.

During Key Stage 2 children in years 3, 4, 5 and 6 should become much more confident with maths – they can comfortably navigate the four operations (adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing), as well as mental calculations and problem-solving using time, measure or money.
But those are just a very general overview of the topics your child will need to know by the end of Year 6. We’ve created a topic list for Key Stage 2 maths that you can download for free. You’ll get a comprehensive list of all the topics, and the details about what your child needs to know.
Once you have had a good look through the checklist, you can use our Maths Worksheet Generator to create practice worksheets (with answers).
