Why Start in Year 4
The Summer Before Year 5 Is the Quiet Advantage
Most families wait until Year 5 to begin, then spend the autumn under pressure. Children who start the summer before arrive in Year 5 already confident in the core skills, so the 11+ year feels like progress rather than panic. This package gives your child that calm, structured start across all four 11+ subjects: English, maths, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning.

Common Questions
Honest Answers Before You Book
Is the assessment really free?
Yes. Every assessment is free and there is no obligation to enrol. It simply lets us understand your child’s level so we can place them in the right group.
My child is in Year 4. Is it too early to start 11+ work?
Not at all. Year 4 is the ideal time to build strong foundations. Year 5 is when the 11+ curriculum ramps up, so children who use the summer to get ahead start that year feeling confident rather than rushed.
What does the package cover?
A 10-week summer programme from Monday 15 June to Saturday 22 August across English, maths, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning, plus The Story Clinic creative writing course and a free placement assessment, all for £575.
How big are the groups?
Groups are small, with up to 6 children, so every child gets meaningful attention and feedback.
Can my child attend online?
Yes. You can choose fully online sessions, Tuesday to Thursday from 5pm to 6pm, delivered live on Microsoft Teams, or in person at Beckenham or Catford with a weekly online reasoning booster.
How do I pay?
We accept Tax-Free Childcare, childcare vouchers, card and bank transfer. If you would like to pay another way or spread the cost, WhatsApp us and we will help.
Is it too late to join if it’s already June?
No. The programme runs from 15 June to 22 August, and we run a free placement assessment before your child starts, so they join at exactly the right level. Children often catch up quickly in small groups, and every week in the programme is a week ahead of where they would otherwise be. The sooner you book, the more of the summer they get.
My child has never done any 11+ preparation. Will they cope?
Absolutely. Many of our children start with us in Year 4 having done no 11+ work at all. That is exactly what this programme is designed for. We assess your child first, place them in the right group, and build their confidence and skills from the ground up. Starting now, before the Year 5 pressure begins, is the ideal time.
