About 11 Plus 2027

11 Plus 2027 building the right foundations now

Children aiming for September 2027 secondary school entry will sit their 11 Plus examinations in September, October and November 2026. If your child is currently in Year 4, they have approximately 18 months of preparation time which is exactly the right amount to build genuine, lasting ability across all four subjects rather than surface-level cramming. If they are in early Year 5, the time is shorter but absolutely sufficient if preparation begins now.

The grammar and independent schools that 2027 entry families target Wilson’s School, St Olave’s Grammar School, Dulwich College, Alleyn’s and the Kent grammar schools are among the most competitive in the country. The children who secure places are not necessarily the most naturally gifted. They are the ones who prepared earliest, most consistently and most effectively. With a 100% pass rate year on year in Kent, Bexley and Medway tests, Geek School has been building those outcomes for South London families for over 10 years.

Frequently asked questions

Now is the ideal time. Children targeting autumn 2026 exams who start preparation in Year 4 have approximately 18 months which is the sweet spot for genuine, sustainable development across all four subjects. Starting now means your child builds skills gradually and arrives in Year 5 already well ahead of those who start later.
Yes. Early Year 5 is still a very good starting point for autumn 2026 exams. You have approximately 12 months of preparation time, which is sufficient for a child who works consistently. We will assess your child on arrival and prioritise the areas where the biggest gains can be made most quickly.
Children targeting September 2027 secondary school entry will sit their grammar school tests in autumn 2026 typically September (Kent Test), October (Sutton Consortium / Quest) and October–November (Bexley, Chislehurst & Sidcup, St Olave’s and others). Independent school assessments typically take place November–January. We will advise on the specific timeline for your target schools.
School selection guidance is included in all of our programmes. Based on your child’s assessed level, we will recommend a shortlist of grammar and independent schools that are realistic, aspirational and well-matched to your child’s strengths and the areas you are based in.
