Schools are out for summer, but if your child has exams this coming up, you probably haven’t switched off mentally.

How exactly can you support your child's academic progress during the summer holidays? Three simple tips.
Make a plan and stick to it this summer to get a good balance between fun and learning so your child does not slip behind.

The organisation of holiday working is key:

  1. Set a schedule – even if it is as little as a couple of hours of work a day, set an agreed routine with your child and stick to it.
  2. Make learning more than just about papers and books – look for real-life opportunities to consolidate your child’s learning. Baking and making things can help with maths and non-verbal reasoning, for example. There are lots of other examples.
  3. What is your child’s learning style? Is it visual, auditory or kinesthetic? Learn how your child learns best to make the most of the time you spend on academic work.
