Are you looking for an 11 Plus Tutor in Norwood?
If you’re considering a grammar or independent school for your child, you’ve probably landed on this page because you are looking for an experienced and successful 11 plus tutor in Norwood. Geek School Tutoring can help you prepare your child for successful entry into your school of choice – we are the first port of call for parents who are looking for an experienced and successful 11 plus tutor in Norwood (SE24).
Not only do we provide maths and English tuition for 11 Plus tests, but we also coach children in verbal and non-verbal reasoning, too. Our method of teaching helps children to quickly grasp key 11 Plus exam concepts in an enjoyable and stress-free manner. We motivate and inspire children to learn, which means they develop skills for both the 11 plus exams and for their academic life! We are not a hot house! At Geek School Tutoring Norwood (SE24), we provide a safe place where your child can grow.
At Geek School Tutoring, we pride ourselves in being the 11-plus experts. Having helped numerous children in Norwood, Bromley, Beckenham, Croydon (and even further afield) to successfully get to grips with 11 plus topics, our formula for success is tried and tested – and it works every time!
Our Norwood Centre, which is based within Brockwell Park is easy to get to. We are close to Herne Hill, Norwood, Tulse Hill, Dulwich, Gipsy Hill and Crystal Palace. You can drop your child off for a couple of hours of tuition and go for a run; grab a coffee at the popular Brockwell Park Café; or take a relaxing (and well-earned!) break in the Temple Gardens, which is next door to us.
Many of our students have also excelled in exams for high-profile private schools (gaining scholarships, too), including Dulwich College, Alleyn’s, James Allen Girls (JAGs), Trinity, Whitgift, Eltham College, St Dunstan’s, Colfe’s, Sydenham Girls, Old Palace Christ Hospital and more!
…not to mention securing a place at top grammar schools including:
Wilson’s, Wallington Girls, Wallington Boys, Graveny, Newstead Woods, St Olave’s and many of the Bexley and Kent grammar schools (too many to mention!)
No Computers – just plain old traditional teaching!
We know a lot of tuition providers use computer programmes to teach their students, and while some children get a lot out of this method, we don’t advocate it as a sole means of teaching because the 11 Plus exams are paper-based. It is also a very impersonal approach to learning, in our opinion. Using traditional methods of teaching, instead, means that we can keep an eye on your child’s handwriting, their methods for working out questions, and prepare them properly for their paper-based exams.
We also have a team who are well-educated and are graduates in Maths or English at top universities, who can teach your child at the depth they need.
A tried and tested 11 Plus method
When it comes to the 11 Plus, you need experience and expertise that will quickly position your child for success. We have a proven record of consistent success that helps children to quickly grasp the necessary knowledge they need to pass their 11 plus exams in both grammar and independent schools successfully, and without stress!

Small groups get the best of both worlds in 11 plus tuition
Our preferred method is working in groups of up to four children so that each child gets all the one-to-one tuition they need, plus some good old healthy competition to spur them on to success! Tuition in small groups has worked for many of our students for years and our students enjoy this form of learning.
One important benefit of working in small groups is that it creates come healthy competition – children can see what others are scoring in their work and this can be a very positive motivator. Additionally, we find that one-to-one tuition can make children dependent on having someone sitting with them whenever they are working and lose motivation to work on their own. This is a luxury they will not have all the time – especially as they progress in their academic journey. So, we prefer small tuition groups which provide elements of one-to-one tuition along with some independence of learning.
